El título "The Best Of Both Worlds" hace referencia tanto a la canción como al hecho de que el album tiene las mejores canciones de sus dos vocalistas David Lee Roth y Sammy Hagar. El CD tiene 3 canciones nuevas con Hagar en canto, Eddie Van Halen prefirió el trabajo del bajo comunmente desarrollado por Michael Anthony. El album no contiene ningún tema de su último album "Van Halen III".
